Monkey Mart: a shop that grows one green arrow at a time
There is almost no interface in Monkey Mart. There is a monkey, a patch of ground and a green arrow with a price printed under it. Stand on the arrow and your coins pour into it; when the price reaches zero, something appears — a till, a shelf, a row of banana trees. From then on the game is a loop you tighten: harvest, stock, serve, spend, and buy the next arrow.
The shop grows sideways as much as upwards. Bananas lead to corn, corn feeds the chickens, and the list goes on through peanuts, coffee, wheat, milk and cocoa. Most of those crops later get a machine that turns them into something worth more — peanut butter, bread, yogurt, ice cream, chocolate — and every machine needs its own shelf and someone to keep it fed. The first half hour is you running everywhere; the rest is hiring monkeys so you do not have to.
What makes it relaxing rather than stressful is that nothing really goes wrong. Customers who wait too long leave, but they come back; an empty shelf just earns nothing for a minute. It is a good game to play in short sessions, because the store saves in your browser and picks up exactly where you left it the next time you open the page.
Controls & mechanics
| Action | Control | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Move | Arrow keys or WASD | On a phone or touch Chromebook, drag a finger anywhere to steer |
| Harvest | Stop next to a tree, plant or animal | The stack on the monkey's head grows while you stand still |
| Stock a shelf | Stop next to the shelf | Items drop off one by one until the shelf or your stack runs out |
| Serve customers | Stand behind the till | Each customer pays in turn; walk over the notes to pick them up |
| Buy | Stand on a green arrow | Your cash drains into it until the price is paid and the item is built |
| Upgrades and staff | Icons in the top corner | Monkey upgrades (speed, carry size) and the staff you can hire |
Earning faster in Monkey Mart
- Plan a loop, not a trip: Walk a circle that passes the crop, its shelf and the till, in that order, every time. A loop that ends at the till means the queue is always served and the cash is always collected.
- Collect the notes on the counter: Money from the till piles up where the customer paid. Until you walk over it, it is not yours to spend. Pass by the counter on every lap.
- Buy walking speed before anything fancy: Every job in the game is walking between two points, so the speed upgrade makes every job cheaper. It pays back faster than an extra shelf does.
- Stock the dearest product first: When two shelves are empty, fill the one with the processed product. A jar of peanut butter earns more than a banana for the same walk.
- Let staff do the boring lap: Once a worker covers a product line, stop doing it yourself. Your time is worth more standing on the next green arrow.
- Come back later: Hired staff keep working while you are away from the keyboard, so a short break with the tab open still earns. The store is saved in the browser for the next session.

Pro tip: Before you buy a new crop, check you can afford its shelf straight after. A crop with nowhere to sell it just sits on the monkey's head — the shelf is what makes it money.
