Happy Glass is a physics puzzle with one idea and no clutter. A sad glass sits on the screen, a stream of water is falling from somewhere above it, and the two are not lined up. Your job is to draw a line that catches the water and steers it into the glass until the face on the side turns into a smile.

It sits on the quick breaks shelf of Monkey Mart, and it is a different kind of break from the tycoon games around it. Nothing here needs managing or upgrading. Each level is a small problem you solve in under a minute, which makes it an easy thing to play while a shop in another tab keeps earning.

The lines you draw are solid objects. Water runs along them, pools behind them and drips off the ends, so a level is really about reading where the stream will go once your shape is in place.

How to play

Press and drag with the mouse, or drag a finger on a touch screen, to draw a line anywhere on the playfield. When you let go, the line becomes a physical object and the water starts to flow. If enough of it lands in the glass, the glass smiles and the level is done. If the water spills away, restart the level and draw something different.

Levels are scored in stars, and the ink matters: a shorter, simpler line earns a better rating than a long scribble that happens to work. Early levels need just a ramp, later ones add obstacles or things you must keep the water away from.

Tips

• Start the line right under the stream and slope it toward the glass. A gentle slope carries water further than a steep one, which tends to splash off the edge.
• Watch the first second of flow before judging your drawing. The water often behaves differently from what you pictured, and a small tweak on the retry is usually enough.
• Think of the line as a funnel or a lid as well as a ramp. A short wall that stops water running the wrong way can be cheaper than a long channel.
• If you are chasing the top star rating, replay solved levels with fewer strokes and less length.
